Persistence drive

Postby Windowsfree » February 15th, 2019, 6:44 pm

I have searched the forum and found some old posts about this. Was wondering if there is a way to setup persistence on a USB 16gig thumb drive so that I can use my Debian install in several places. I would only need about 4 gigs of persistence.

Thank you,

You can have a live-usb with persistence. There are several ways. You could install debian to the usb just like you would to a hard drive or you can make a live-usb with persistence. I haven't looked at the debian-live manual lately, but I'm sure it still tells you ways to do it.

refracta2usb will make a live-usb from a live-iso, with or without persistence.
https://refracta.org/docs/readme.refracta2usb.txt
https://sourceforge.net/projects/refracta/files/tools/

If you want to make your own live-iso copy of your installed system, you can use refractasnapshot. (same download link)
