Using an IR port?

Postby Sephiroth » March 20th, 2011, 4:26 pm

Alright, I have a Dell D610 with a 1.6GHz Pentium M for work now. It works well and I maxed it out at 2GB of RAM, popped in a 320GB HDD, added a bluetooth chip, and installed an Atheros 9200 series wireless N mini PCI card. However, it has a built-in IR port that I would like to use. I can see that the module "irda" is loaded, but what utilities do I have for manipulating the port for file transfers, possibly manipulating a TV, or whatever else I can do with it? I run KDE4, but without the effects due to the laptop only allowing me to use 8MB of RAM for video. Thanks for the help!

Cicero: "Stab you, stab you, stab you!"
Psycho: "You sat in my swing, now I'm going to eat you!"
Psycho: "I think he's gonna' play xylophone with my spinal cord!"
