How do update the Iceweasel browser?

If you want newer apps and such then it might be wise to install 'wheezy' which is the codename for what will become the next debian release.

thanks! but those are iso images to install from a cd, don't? (my cd reader doesn't work very well...) is there some easy installer, or updater just using debian, please, tell me and guide me (like the debian installer I had to have used from Windows to get here)

What version of Iceweasel do you have? If you click > Help > About Iceweasel it will tell you the version. If it's v10 or below, you can upgrade using the previous commands given, those being to install xulrunner-13.0 with the experimental repo and then iceweasel using the backports repo. The commands were in one of the previous messages.

You have to use those commands in either a root terminal prompt (#) or adding 'sudo' in front of the command from a terminal window as the regular (non-root) user prompt ($).

Ok, I was looking before, but really don't know how I get to the sources.list to edit it...wich command i should run for that? thx

This has now been explained several times - if you still can't get it, then I'm afraid you may be out of your depth using Debian.

My advice: Install a distro like ubuntu or linux mint, experiment for a time - don't ask in forums. Learn from your experiences and mistakes and when you're ready (probably in several months time) come back and give Debian another try.

You should really learn to use nano as it is useful for a number of things.
