Minor refractasnapshot bug, preventing UEFI grafx mode

Postby nikolaos » September 23rd, 2018, 8:43 pm

First of all, my apologies if this is not the right place to report my finding.

I am using refractasnapshot-base_10.1.1_all.deb to create ISOs from my running (debian and ubuntu) systems.

The problem was that I could not manage to enter in graphics mode and present the background image when booting in UEFI.

Solved as follows: at the following line at /usr/bin/refractasnapshot, I had to remove the slash infront of 'boot'. So line:

Code: Select all
cp /usr/share/grub/unicode.pf2 /boot/grub/unicode.pf2

becomes:

Code: Select all
cp /usr/share/grub/unicode.pf2 boot/grub/unicode.pf2

When the slash is present, unicode.pf2 goes to the source system, never makes it to the ISO and due to its absense, when booting in UEFI you are forcibly going to text mode.

I hope someone might find this useful.
Thank you devs for the amazing refracta tools !

Wow. Thank you! That's been bugging me for a long time. It was working in my refracta8 (jessie) builds, but not in the newer builds. You solved a mystery. It will be fixed in 10.1.2.
