Its not paranoia when they are out to get you

For the truly paranoid (myself included)

1) hosts file
2) AdblockPlus with Easy list+Easy Privacy list+ Antisocial list
3) NoScript
4) Ghostery
5) BetterPrivacy
6) Disable 3rd party cookies
7) HTTPS-Everywhere + HTTPS Finder
8) GoogleSharing
9) Open in Private Browsing Mode
10) Hide My Ass Proxy Extension
11) Tor + Torbutton
12) Use Duckduckgo or ixquick/Startpage instead of using Google
13) Peerguardian/moblock

And yes I have all of the above installed, I rarely use HMA or Tor, but when you want to hide every trace they are helpful.
Edited: BTW Duckduckgo supports the use of Tor :

I stopped using Torbutton it is no longer being supported plus it was giving me errors. I switched to just using an extension that enables/disables the proxy setting in Firefox.

Thanks, Craig....good stuff.
As you say, it's not paranoia when they really are out to spy on you. (I hope the NSA/FBI agent reading this gets apoplexy! )

As an employee of big brother, or the "surveillance state" if you will, I just want you all to know that we know....nothing you can do stops us.

Well, as a member of the Great Unwashed Proletariat, we know that you know that we know that you know how much we know that you know.

Recently added some nifty apps to my paranoid system.

Torchat - https://code.google.com/p/torchat/
Tribler - https://www.tribler.org/trac/wiki
Jitsi - http://jitsi.org/

Also finally got around to messing with UFW.
Went back to using twidge for twitter since none of the GUI twitter apps work worth a crap. 8-)

I've been using duckduckgo for a few months and the only thing I have yet to replace is a better non-Google image search engine to replace Google Images. My fellow paranoid users, what would you recommend for this situation?

Startpage has image search. In my understanding it actually use Google search but scraps all the tracking crap off of it. I don't think it really compares to it but it's better than nothing.
