I've given up on you sharing. I just don't know how you're gonna have enough left to run the farm equipment.

Don't mean to hijack your thread but thought this was a good a place as any to share . . . I didn't build mine - it's obviously a mobile home. But I have painted it with my own hands THREE times in the 20+ years that I've lived here. It's not nearly as grand as your 'mansion' but it fits all my needs and is very quiet and peaceful. More importantly . . . it's paid for.

I agree, golinux - very quiet and peaceful, as well as paid for are pretty important! Looks good. I'm currently in an apartment with very little noise insulation...getting into a place that's quiet & peaceful is at the top of my list.

Looks like one of the houses in 'Lost'. Awesome.

Is it in a secluded area, or a very populous one?

It is almost at the end of a private road that dead ends into a creek so fairly secluded and relatively little traffic going by. The area is still rural but that is rapidly changing to 'suburbia'. County population is now twice what it was when I moved here over 20 years ago. UGH! :o Too many people in the world and more keep coming , , , just like cockroaches in my compost.

golinux, your place looks peaceful. Too bad about the burgeoning population, though. I own 90 acres and my place is in the exact middle of the property, so as long as I pay my taxes, my neighbors won't be getting any nearer, at least. There have been a couple of new houses built on my road in the past few years...not bad. I have 5 more payments and then my place will be paid for as well. :D

Cool! My fantasy is to be in the middle of about 500 acres which ain't 'a gonna happen. I have to be content on a little less than three and be very thankful.

We'll need to have a virtual party when that happens!!!

 It has always been a fantasy of mine to own a big enough chunk of land to be able to take my .300 winchester magnum rifle and fire it in any direction from my porch and always have the projectile land on my own property, but since that would take a radius of about 5 miles, and at 640 acres to the square mile, that ain't gonna happen anytime soon, that's for sure! (Especially not with the way property taxes keep going up.)

So I will have to be content knowing that at least if I fling my rifle off the porch, it will always land on my own property.....

As an aside, I just finished building a several new flower gardens for my beloved wife, so I really gotta post some updated pics....
(My friends wonder why my wife and I never go away on vacations, but how do I make them understand that our home is our vacationland?)
