[SOLVED] vlc-media-player is chrashing on 64-bit jessie

Postby prudra » March 5th, 2017, 12:25 pm

On my 64-bit Dell 15 3558 laptop with debian+nonfree 64-bit OS vlc-media-player is crashing immediately after it is invoked. So I've fallen back on smplayer. Is there any way I can stabilize vlc?

Try choosing a different setting in /Tools/Preferences/Video/Output. I had the same problem with OpenBSD on my new computer. Changing the output setting solved the problem.
