+1 for XP, the only OS I allow to dwell in my hardware.

At this point, considering Microsoft is killing off XP in April, I recommend going to Debian Stable if you want rock-solid stability. Or Testing if you want fairly recent software while still running a reasonably stable OS, or Sid if you want a roller with the newest software possible for Debian, competing with the likes of Arch for software recency.
OS: Arch Linux 32-bit | Kernel: 3.14.0-4-ARCH | DM/DE combo: LXDM + MATE | Browser: Firefox Nightly | e-Mail client: Thunderbird Daily | Chat clients: Pidgin, Skype, and Teamspeak | Virtual machines: Virtualbox | Emulators: Kega Fusion, NEStopia, SNES9X, Stella, VBA-M, and DOSBOX | Windows compatibility: WINE.

Dammit the trollistas have a hold here eh?

IMO if you wanna run xp/vista/windows (whatever) use Linux as a base and run all those other 2nd hand rubbish OS's in virtualbox

I develop apps for industry in java for a win7 platform, and not being able to stand anything MS on hardware, I virtualise ;o)

My vote goes to Windows XP.... It is flabbergast by all means.. It's features and characteristics are merely best...!!! :)

That feeling when anticapitalista recommends XP and Team Rocket use a free OS.

my concern is that debian is reaching end of support november 5th, so xp seems like the only responsible choice here.
